Macie Collins led the offensive efforts with her third home run of the season as HHS improved to 9-1 in Region 7-AAAA play.
Cedartown, Ga. - Addie Edwards tossed her second perfect game of the season, striking out 14 of 15 batters faced as the Heritage Generals softball team raced past the Cedartown Bulldogs, 8-0, on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The General offense scored runs in the first four innings, including a three-spot in the opening frame. Macie Collins’ RBI double and an RBI sacrifice fly from Ella Blansit gave Heritage an early 3-0 lead.
Macie Collins tied Harper Carstens for the team lead in home runs after connecting with her third big fly of the season. The junior’s solo shot extended Heritage’s lead to 8-0 in the fourth. She finished the night 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
Addie Edwards earned her 12th win of the season and tossed her second perfect game of the season. The right-hander struck out 14 of 15 batters faced en route to her fourth solo shutout of the season. She is only the second General to have multiple perfect game bids in a season, joining Marissa Patterson, who accomplished the feat in 2010.
