Heritage Suffers First Loss at Gordon Lee

Aug 18, 2023

The Generals pounded out 12 hits in the loss and left ten runners on base.

Chickamauga, Ga. — The Heritage Generals softball team suffered its first loss of the season in a 3-1 setback to Gordon Lee.

Heritage falls to 4-1 on the season after the loss while Gordon Lee improves to 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Trojans opened the scoring with a three-run home run off the bat of Kate Chambers. Back-to-back two-out walks brought Chambers to the plate in an RBI spot.

The Generals tried to cook up some late-inning heroics but fell just short of another comeback.

A leadoff double from Brylee Pritchett followed by three straight singles from Bailee Hollis, Harper Carstens, and Macie Collins brought home the lone run for the Generals. Hollis was thrown out at the plate trying to score on Carstens’ single.

Kelsey Anderson suffered the loss in a complete game effort. The right-hander scattered five hits across six innings and struck out three.
