Heritage Uses Offensive Explosion to Blast Whitewater

The Generals pounded 13 hits including five extra-base hits in a 10-0 win.

Columbus, Ga. - The Heritage Generals softball team advanced to the winner’s bracket final of the GHSA Class AAAA Elite Eight with a 10-0 five-inning win over Whitewater on Thursday afternoon in Columbus.


The Generals improved its overall record to 26-2-1, pushing its record win streak to 18 consecutive games.


HOW IT HAPPENED

Heritage scored in each of the first three innings to build an early 6-0 advantage. Harper Carstens and Ella Blansit each blasted home runs as part of a three-run first inning before Bailee Hollis and Landry White chipped in with RBI hits in the second and third innings.


The Generals capped off its impressive performance with a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI triple from Bree Wilson that scored Electra Bowling and White. Brylee Pritchett brought Wilson home with an RBI ground out and Macie Collins lined a single into center field to bring home Bailee Hollis.


Addie Edwards earned her 20th win of the season after combining with Kelsey Anderson to shut out the Wildcats. Edwards allowed two hits and struck out three in four innings before Anderson slammed the door with a six-pitch fifth inning.

UP NEXT

The Generals (26-2-1, 14-1 7-AAAA) will play North Oconee in the winner’s bracket final on Friday at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are undefeated in Elite Eight play with the Titans defeating Perry (11-1) and Wayne County (12-0).
